The Barrens

Once you enter The Barrens, you will see why it is called such a place. The trees have long since dried up, lack of water for hundreds of years. The grass barely clings to life here, its dry cracking and easily makes noise when you take a step. The only creatures that live here are antelope like bovine that feed on grubs and roots that grow underground.
