An ill wind blew across this desolate landscape. And with it came a somber being, a mesh of blue and white. Duel-colored eyes scanned the land for any other source of life. But it looked like he was the only one out here. Not that that bothered this one. He was a natural skulker, and he preferred to be alone. He'd never had much use for company, be it an ally or another victim. One he would choose to pick off later, of course.
The wolf licked his lips at such a thought, still finding he could taste the blood from an earlier kill. It had been a quick kill, but a messy one, and he had reveled in seeing the other's agony before they died. Pain... it was something he had grown up around. Hatred and bitterness, wrath, these were his only real friends. But the expression he wore was like a blank slate, and you wouldn't know the wolf was a killer until it was too late. Screaming and begging would fall on deaf ears. If he wished you dead, he wouldn't stop until you were lying lifeless at his paws.
And this place suited him well. Empty, silent, almost dead. The very atmosphere seemed to have a distinct chilling quality about it. Almost like...
"A tomb," he chuckled.
With a small snort, the bi-colored wolf set off at a trot, taking it all in. Blades of grass snapped into as he ambled along, the land not having had a good rain in some time. What caused the male to pause was one lonely antelope out by its lonesome. This was getting better and better, he'd found a nice place to relax, and here was a meal just for him. The wolf was able to take the thing down easily, and then he feasted. He tore at the thing, pulling at flesh and stripping the sinews of fresh meat. And he gulped it all down, not caring that the creature's blood stained his own pelt.
Yes, he was a merciless killer, and a sloppy eater to boot.

Acrossed the edge there lay a rock. A large rock that had an object atop it. This object from afar would look like lump of grass maybe, or something else the delusional imagineation could bring up in such a hot place.
This lump of something happened to be a large creature, this creature layed still, idling drooling from its muzzle in a black thick tar. What little life that grew around the rock, short blades of grass mostly where quickly drained of life; even the tree that shaded the monster was loosing its oddly green glimmer in the middle of this waste land.
Silence... only the call of a vulture. They where smart not to tangle with this seemingly dead creature, they knew who or what it was, but no one else did, that was the issue. Masive body stired as the creature lept in and out of sleep for a time before finally resting once more. It seemed as if it wasn't breathing once it stoped moving.
Ears flicked; another was imdeed close by, a target? Or would it just keep walking like all others, holding their nose in a way and skampering to the south towards the Ice and Snow.
"Fools.he monster mumbled in his sleep as he thought of this.

He'd just finished his meal when something caused him to whip his head above. A cry..., but only that of a mere vulture. A most detestable scavenger indeed. He had chased away quite a few before, when they had circled his kills. Those had been his and his alone, and he had guarded them like a mother would a pup. For only he could tear into the flesh of one he had lavishly laid torture upon. There was something beautiful about death, something that warmed him on the inside.
After the vulture left, he spotted a large rock off to his right. And on that rock was... what appeared to be some sort of large lump. Grass, perhaps? Maybe, but what snagged his interest the most was the tree above it. Though dying, it still could provide shelter from the sun. After such a gorge, he wouldn't be doing himself any favors by wandering to and fro in this heat. That decided, the bi-colored male trotted over to the boulder, his tail swishing idly behind him. Little did he know of the behemoth that had already claimed sanctuary under the dying birch. And even if he had known, little would he care.
As he got closer, the male began to think that this lump was not some form of vegetation after all. It was too bulky, too misaligned with the rest of the backdrop. And was that movement? Had he actually found another living soul out here?
He growled, drawing ever closer. And then he paused as he beheld the monster dozing on said rock. What a strange creature this was. It was quite massive for one thing, though he was not intimidated by size. He'd taken down wolves bigger than himself, so why should size concern him? He gazed at the beast, watching the drool dribble onto the rock. Hmph, this thing appeared half dead. Maybe it was on its way out. Mmm, then he would have another meal for later. He could live off this monster's carcass for days... if in fact the large monster was dying. It could very well just be out cold.
"And what have we here?" he snickered. "A freak of some sort?"

The beast seemed to remain there, unphased by the creatures 'harsh' words. Seemingly dead, the creature continued to lay upon the rock. The nmormally harsh hot breeze was cool suddenly as it whisped threw the monster's cleanly silver mane.
Great another cocky new comer. Diiu was no alseep, merely waiting his time. This newer male wouls want his spot, yes? Smart shelter from the blazing sun above. But foolish as he would to try and take it; The beast wasn't about to let him.
Would he talk to the young one? Or would he let him get closer?

No answer. Perhaps this creature was in fact dead. But its sides heaved every so often, indicating it was breathing. A corpse could not breathe, which meant this one either hadn't heard him. or it was choosing to ignore him. Well, how rude! Didn't the larger one know he was a guest in these parts? Where was the hospitality? With another growl, he padded up alongside the rock.
"Nice place you have here, "friend"," he rumbled. "It is a tad hot."
More than a tad, actually. The sun had only just begun its climb into the sky, but already he was panting. What stood before him wasn't much of a tree, but shade was shade, and this colossal titan was hogging it all. That didn't sit right with the blue-and-white gray wolf, and he balanced himself upright by laying his fore paws against the rock.
"Room for one more?" he asked, not caring if there was or not. He wanted to get out of the sun.

"Afraid not." The beast clampered up to stand atop the rock, peering down at the smaller one. " I don't kindly take to 'bullyheaded cocky' whimps such as your self." A muse set up of course, but you know it didn't bother Diiu.
The beast's forked flesh lawled to the side, its violet hues barely seen through the thick tar like silivia that drooled from it's muzzle. It smelled like a valley of corpse on a hot summer's day, fresh from battle.

Crosshatch had expected some hostility, but he hadn't thought the creature would resort to name calling. The bi-colored gray wolf dropped back to the ground. How... primitive, for lack of better word. Were petty insults the best this beast could do? It disappointed the male, and his tail went limp as he fashioned the behemoth with a small glare. A bullheaded wimp?! Ho, now more than ever, Crosshatch would stay just to press this one's buttons!
"Cute," Crosshatch smirked, a leer pulling at his lips. "Name calling is beneath me, but it seems to suit you just fine. What's next, bad boy? You going to throw a temper tantrum if I refuse to leave?
He chuckled and shook his head. Who did this beast think he was? Crosshatch wouldn't be scared off, though the thick globs of drool that spilled from Diiu's mouth were a nice touch. And the smell..., Crosshatch took a whiff and closed his eyes. That scent was the smell of death, one he'd worn many times before. So this monster had killed, too. A bit of common ground, but Crosshatch wasn't in any hurry to ally with one who called him a wimp.
"Take it easy on the insults, my friend," he growled, his tail curling to his side. "Or you may not like what happens next." Yes, he dared to look this monster in the face. One might believe he was looking death in the eyes. But Crosshatch wouldn't fold. Not now, not ever. And with a devilish smirk, he hopped half-way up on the rock. He had both fore paws pressed against the stone again, and he kept pressing his luck.
"Looks like you've got more than enough room," he grunted. "Why not just share for a bit? Then I'll be on my way, and you can go back to lying about and wasting your life."

"..." Pupiless gaze stared down at the male. Cute? Petty? How nice, Diiu had assumed the male would be at that lvl, and he failed to be correct, so he fell silent. Diiu stared in pondering for a momment. It wasn't bothering him that the yong one got so close, he simply sat there idly drooling upon the rock.
It didn't matter to Diiu what the male though, felt, or breathed, as long as he didn't try anything stupid; like attack for the rock.

Again, no answer. Crosshatch could be patient, just as he could be cruel. But even his patience had its limits. Limits this beast seemed eager to tax. Did he find it amusing? Well, it wasn't funny to Crosshatch. What this monster's thoughts were, Crosshatch didn't know. Nor did he want to know, as he could care less about another's thoughts. If this beast thought ill of him, let him voice his dislike aloud. The silent treatment was just getting old. Real fast.
Without another word, Crosshatch crouched, and he sprang up onto the rock, his dual-colored eyes locking with Diiu's. There, now this guy couldn't look down on him. If there was another source of shade around, Crosshatch might have gone for it. But this tree, no matter how flimsy, appeared to be the only source of comfort from the sun.
This blasted heat..., it was what really had him on edge! The air was stale, and he hadn't been able to find any water after finishing his kill. So thirst and fatigue, coupled with his bad attitude, all made for a horrible combination. His lips parted, and his tongue hung freely as he panted. He'd keep an eye on the other, just in case Diiu tried something. And if he did, Crosshatch would be quick to retaliate.
"So there," he huffed, showing he dared to take the rock.

Diiu's large size still allowed for him to peer down at the young one. That pupiless incarnedene gaze could not betold whether he was string in front or to the side, you'd have to ask him that. The raggy filth of a clothe that covered the useless one, up close, was seen as a brown color, though over the years it had turned redish burgandy.
"So...there...what? You managed to get on the rock with out help...good job." That cracking horsely voice poored slowly from the monster's muzzle just like the ozze that still happened to be idly driping.

Again, Crosshatch wasn't intimidated by size. This large one might have had a lot of bulk, but very little brain. Or he was playing mute just to mess with Crosshatch's head. But mind games didn't seem to be Diiu's specialty. Crosshatch gazed into that red eye, he looked at the cloth that changed colors over time. He looked upon the razor sharp fangs, locked within the massive jaws of this creature. There was definitely something... off with this one. He had no idea what it was, but he was having trouble reading Diiu.
How old was he? Where had Diiu come from? Where was he going? And, were there others like him?
Suddenly, Crosshatch found his irritation giving way to curiosity. A puzzling figure, this hulking monster. The bi-colored wolf was a monster on the inside, but Diiu looked like one both inside and out. And yet, he questioned the thing's sanity. Diiu appeared to be there, and yet he seemed out of it. Or not all there to begin with. It would be Crosshatch's luck to run across another wolf that wasn't playing with a full deck. He circled the massive wolf once, then twice, his head cocked at an inquisitive angle. After he'd circled Diiu for a third time, Crosshatch sat down in front of him.
"So I did," he nodded. "But what if I said this was my rock now? What if I wanted you to get lost?"
Not that he really wanted this boulder. Crosshatch just wanted to see how Diiu'd react. Would the thing get angry, or would he stare and drool ooze some more?

"Unfortunetley for you..you'd be S.O.L." The monster replied. "You lack the power to move me enough off the young young one." That forked purple tongue flicked out to lick away the ooze that had conjured around his muzzle during the time of his drooling. The beast then glanced off towards the distance, but Crosshatch couldn't tel lthat, for he only moved his eye to do so.

So the monster finally chose to speak again. The beast seemed one of very little words, probably believing brute force was more than enough to make up for his lack of verbal skills. As if that was supposed to impress the silent killer. Crosshatch's tail curled again, expressing his growing displeasure with the monstrous wolf. Was Diiu mistaking him for some sort of weakling? A simpering child that didn't know his place? What gall!
Crosshatch growled, feeling his hackles rise. He wasn't going to sit here and let this thing badmouth him. Crosshatch didn't have the patience to stomach that. He could put up with a lot, but for one reason or another, he didn't relish being talked down to. Especially not by the likes of Diiu.
"You think I couldn't, huh?" he snapped. "Don't be so sure!"
He scowled as Diiu licked at his lips, doing away with the gunk that had coated them before. Disgusting as well as ugly in Crosshatch's mind. What a revolting monster. He wouldn't see Diiu look into the distance, as Crosshatch was busy keeping his temper in check. He wouldn't lose it, he wouldn't fall apart in front of Diiu. And he drew a bit closer, the growl serving as a warning. If Diiu wanted to start something, Crosshatch was more than happy to oblige.
The sound of a pebble clattering across the ground caused him to pivot, a snarl pulling at his lips. He hadn't expected another to come from behind him, though the female didn't appear to be up to any trouble. She had been inching forward, and she was still doing so as Crosshatch regarded her coldly. In the process, he'd turned his back on Diiu, after snarling in the beast's face.
Not a good thing, really.

Diiu ignored the childish asuming of the male who seemed to enjoy being so close to him on this desolet boulder. The monster fell silent, allowed the ignorent male continue to trek down the wrong road of ideals of the monster. He found it mildly amusing, but that couldn't be seen on the blank exspresion on the beasts face.
Yes, Diiu was not a full deck of cards mentally, or at least that what he allowed others to think. Inbreeding had allowed for ...certain cogs to either A. Not be present or B. Go bad early.
